a day at the beach

We took a road trip to Galveston Island for a little "get a way!" We stayed at Galvesta Hotel, which was really nice. It turns 100 years next year. Surprisingly, being that old it was in great condition and the rooms were clean. They are in the process of remodeling each floor. We weren't so lucky to have one of the remodeled rooms though.

Jake got back from his trip at 7:30a.m. and was not reassigned, so we loaded up and headed for the beach! The weather was perfect...80's! Not to hot, but warm enough for the pool. Our room was not ready when we arrived, so we stayed at the pool area for a couple hours. It was REALLY nice! Wish I would have taken pictures. It was Libby's first time in the pool. She held on tight, pretty much the whole time! After checking into our room, we spent another couple hours on the beach. Jake and Luke played in the waves. And Libby and I played in the sand. It was very peaceful and relaxing!

For dinner we ate at The Rain Forest Cafe! It was pretty cool inside. Again, didn't get pictures. Luke was scared and wanted to be held the whole time. He barely took his hands off his eyes. Poor thing.

The weather was a bit chilly the next day. We went to the beach for just a little while and decided to head back home. We had a great time!
